Before you arrive
No. Most guests come with a general sense that something is off rather than a formal diagnosis. The initial consultation exists precisely to establish where you are. That said, if you have recent lab reports, imaging or a current medication list, please bring them — it makes the first consultation considerably more useful.
For day programs and weekend retreats, a week is usually enough. For residential Panchakarma programs of seven days or more we recommend four to six weeks, and for the 30-day transformation or international immersion, two to three months. Peak season runs September to November and February to April.
Loose cotton clothing for practice and therapy, a warm layer for early mornings (Dehradun drops to 8°C in December), closed walking shoes for treks, a water bottle and any current medication. Therapy oils stain, so bring clothes you do not mind marking. Mats, props, towels and toiletries are provided.
Yes, and you should — do not stop anything before arriving. Bring the full list. Our physicians work around existing prescriptions and will tell you if a herb interacts with something you take. Any reduction in medication is a decision for your prescribing doctor, made with our written notes in hand, never abruptly and never by us alone.
Programs & treatment
Panchakarma is a staged medical procedure with three mandatory phases: preparation (snehapana and swedana), the main eliminative action, and rebuilding (samsarjana krama and rasayana). Skipping preparation makes the elimination ineffective; skipping rebuilding loses most of the benefit. A spa package delivers the pleasant massage components without the clinical structure — which is fine, but it is a different thing and should not be sold as Panchakarma.
Honestly, parts of it can be. Internal ghee therapy is unpleasant to drink for most people, and the day of the primary eliminative procedure is tiring. Everything else — abhyangam, shirodhara, swedana — is deeply pleasant. You are monitored throughout and any procedure can be modified or stopped.
If you are new to Ayurveda, start with the 1 Day Wellness or 3 Day Detox. For a long-standing complaint, seven days is the practical minimum and ten is better. Where the aim is to genuinely rebuild daily habits rather than get temporary relief, plan on the 15 or 30 day program. If you are unsure, take a free 15-minute discovery call — we will tell you honestly if a shorter program is enough.
Prenatal yoga and specific gentle therapies are available from the second trimester with clearance from your obstetrician. Panchakarma, nasya, most herbal formulations and steam therapy are contraindicated in pregnancy. We will design a safe program, and we will decline anything unsafe even if you ask for it.
Stay & facilities
Entirely vegetarian, satvik, seasonal and cooked fresh in our kitchen — no refined sugar, no packaged food, minimal fermented items. During therapy your meals are prescribed as part of the protocol, which sometimes means a mono-diet of kitchari. We accommodate gluten-free, vegan and specific allergies with notice.
WiFi covers the rooms and dining hall, not the practice or therapy spaces. Guests on 1–5 day programs often work in the afternoon gaps. For Panchakarma of seven days or more we strongly discourage it — the physiological point of the program is rest, and guests who work through it get measurably less from it.
Yes. We have twin and double rooms and can run parallel programs for partners on different protocols. Children over twelve can join yoga classes; we do not offer clinical programs for under-sixteens.
Practical matters
A 25% deposit confirms your booking, with the balance due on arrival. We accept UPI, bank transfer, all major cards and cash. Cancellations more than 21 days before arrival are fully refunded less a small administration fee; 7–21 days, the deposit is retained but transferable for twelve months; under 7 days, the deposit is non-refundable. Medical emergencies are always handled case by case.
Fly Delhi to Dehradun (Jolly Grant, DED) — 50 minutes in the air, then a 45-minute drive to Garhi Cantt. By rail, the Vande Bharat or Shatabdi runs direct to Dehradun railway station, which is 5 km from us. By road it is 250 km on NH-7 and around six hours. We arrange pickup from the airport, the station or Delhi itself on request.
We issue itemised invoices, consultation notes and treatment records on request. Whether your insurer reimburses AYUSH treatment depends on your policy — several Indian insurers now cover Ayurvedic inpatient care, and some European policies cover it under complementary medicine. Ask us for the documentation format your insurer needs and we will match it.
