Terms, booking
& cancellation

The commercial and practical terms on which we accept a booking. Last updated 1 July 2026.

Short version: 25% deposit confirms a booking, free cancellation more than 21 days out, disclose your medical history honestly, no alcohol on campus, and talk to us before anything becomes a dispute.

Booking and payment

  • A booking is confirmed when we receive a deposit of 25% of the program price. Until then, dates are held but not reserved. The balance is due on arrival and may be paid by UPI, bank transfer, credit or debit card, or cash in Indian rupees.
  • Quotations are given per person on twin-sharing occupancy unless stated otherwise, and include accommodation, all meals, every therapy listed in the program description and the written take-home protocol. Single occupancy carries a supplement, which is stated in your quotation.
  • Quotations exclude flights, visa fees, travel and medical insurance, laboratory tests taken off-site, personal purchases, and excursions beyond those named in the program. Airport transfers are stated in your quotation where they apply.
  • Because every program is designed individually, we do not publish a rate card; you receive a written quotation before any payment is requested. That figure is fixed once your deposit is received.

Cancellation and refunds

  • More than 21 days before arrival: full refund of the deposit less a small administration fee, stated in your quotation.
  • Between 7 and 21 days before arrival (15 to 45 days for courses): the deposit is retained but remains transferable to any future booking for twelve months.
  • Fewer than 7 days before arrival (15 days for courses), or non-arrival: the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Shortening a stay after arrival: we refund unused accommodation and meals but not therapies already scheduled and staffed for you. A program cut short at the physician's clinical recommendation is refunded in full for the unused portion.
  • Documented medical emergencies and refused visas are handled case by case, and in practice we have always found a fair resolution. Ask us.
  • If we cancel a retreat or course — which happens rarely, usually because a cohort does not reach viable numbers — you receive a full refund including deposit, or a transfer to the next available date, whichever you prefer.

Clinical terms

  • You must disclose your full medical history, current medication, allergies, pregnancy and any recent surgery at booking and again at consultation. Several therapies are genuinely unsafe in certain conditions, and we can only work around what we know about.
  • Our physicians may decline, modify or discontinue any therapy on clinical grounds. This is a professional judgement and it is not negotiable, though we will always explain the reasoning and offer an alternative where one exists.
  • We do not instruct you to stop, start or alter prescription medication. Any change to a prescription is a decision for the doctor who wrote it, and we will supply our notes to support that conversation.
  • Ayurveda and Yoga are complementary systems of wellness. We make no claim to cure any disease, and we will tell you plainly when a condition needs conventional medical or psychiatric care as its primary treatment.

Conduct on campus

  • Our campus is entirely vegetarian and alcohol-free. Alcohol, tobacco, cannabis and recreational drugs are not permitted anywhere on campus, and their use will end a stay without refund.
  • Practice spaces are silent spaces. Mobile phones are left outside the shala and the meditation hall, and photography of other guests requires their consent.
  • We ask for modest dress in the dining hall, at temples and river ghats — shoulders and knees covered is the local norm and it is appreciated.
  • Harassment or abuse of staff or guests ends a stay immediately and without refund.

Liability

  • You participate in yoga, treks and therapies at your own risk, having disclosed your medical history honestly. We carry professional indemnity and public liability insurance, but we strongly recommend you hold your own travel and medical insurance covering the activities you intend to take part in.
  • We are not liable for loss or damage to personal property. A safe is available in every room and at reception.
  • We are not liable for delays, cancellations or disruption caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including weather, landslides, transport strikes, government restrictions or acts of nature. In such cases we will do everything practical to reschedule you at no additional cost.
